New to The Roots | Yin Yoga with Blair

Beginning Monday, January 9, 2017 we will have weekly Yin Yoga at the Roots! Blair Williams, longtime yoga teacher in the area, will be bringing her magic to her weekly class Mondays at 7pm. 

Class Description:

Adult and mature teens only. All flexibility and fitness levels are welcome! There are fewer poses (asanas) per class- each pose is held anywhere from 1-15 minutes (with props as needed). These poses target the deep connective (“Yin”) tissues in the body, such as ligaments, bones, fascia and joints of the body that are typically not accessed as much during a more active (“Yang”) practice. This class is a wonderful compliment if you already have an established muscular (“Yang”) practice. It is also great if you like a quiet class where you can slow down and surrender. The class is healing, relaxing and takes into account the whole person- body, mind and spirit. Prior yoga and/or meditation experience is not required.

Please bring a yoga mat- all other props will be provided.

Blair is a mother to three beautiful children- Reese (7), Hudson (2) and Bennett (1). Blair graduated from a 200 RYT Ashtanga Teacher Training with Ally Ford Yoga in 2013. Blair was originally introduced to yoga over 7 years ago through Bikram Yoga (Hot Yoga). After the birth of her daughter she craved a quiet, healing and calming practice and found Yin Yoga. Blair has been passionate about Yin Yoga ever since. The practice has been an instrumental tool in her journey as a mother and lover of Life.

Blair is a student of Transcendental Meditation (since January 2013). Blair has a passion for music, chanting and aromatherapy, and likes to incorporate these healing modalities into her classes. Blair is also interested in nutrition and health in general. Blair graduated from The University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing (2003).

Blair is a kind, gentle, funny and loving spirit. She looks forward to sharing her love, passion and knowledge of Yin Yoga with you all!
